How To Apply Beard Oil

How to Apply Beard Oil

Beard oil is intended for the skin and for the hair. Beard oil will help ease the itch from the skin, it will help the hairs feel nourished, it will help style the beard to make it look great, and it will help your beard smell amazing! Applying beard oil, the proper way is essential to achieving all the great benefits from beard oil.

First thing you want to do is shake up your bottle of Doctor Nick’s beard oil. That amazing beard oil blend has ingredients with different weights, and some will settle lower than others. Shaking up the bottle is going to mix the blend and give you the consistent results you want.

Next you will want to squeeze the dropper top to get the desired amount of oil for your skin and beard. This amount will vary based on several factors. The biggest factor would be the size (length and thickness) of your beard. Since beard oil is for the hair as well as the skin, you will be using more oil on a bigger and longer beard. Another factor would be your skin type. If you have dry skin, you will likely use more oil. If you have oily skin, you will likely use less oil. Figuring out the right amount for you will take trial and error. A general suggestion would be to use just a couple of drops for a short beard, and up to two dropper tops full for a long beard. Start with a low amount because it is much easier to add more, as compared to trying to take some off. And then:

You will place the desired amount of oil in the palm of one of your hands. Rub your palms together to slightly warm up the oil and spread it out in your hand. Next take your fingers and work them in your palm to gather the oil. Finally, you will take those fingertips and work them into the skin under your beard, and then work the oil through the hair of the beard. It is always a good idea to finish spreading the oil thoroughly by using a comb or a brush (for shorter beards). This will get the oil in the pores where you need, and then evenly spread the oil out through the beard.

A good rule of thumb with oil is to run your hand over your beard 30 minutes after applying oil and see if your hand is oily. If it is oily, you used too much. If your hand is clean and your beard does not feel brittle, you did it just right! If your hand is clean but your beard feels itchy or brittle, you can add a few more drops of oil.

Now sit back and enjoy that luscious man mane of yours, while you look and smell great!
